Any reasonably fit person can do this trek, including kids above 10 years old. Moreover, accommodation during the trek is wilderness camping and facilities like showers and toilets does not available. Bathing is in the rivers and the call of nature in the bush (we set a toilet tent on request). Low impact camping is practiced throughout the trek and environmental awareness is the order at the day.
This trek is supported by donkeys that carry the baggage (zero pollution). The donkey handlers are Maasai men natives of the trekking area. During the evening camp fires they will impart their immense knowledge of the wilderness to you too. Our guides on this trek are Maasai too. They have received training in reputable Outdoor Leadership schools and have long field experience. A great company to be with.
PREPARATION:
The trek can be taken by annyone who is physically fit and throughout the year. But the best trekking months are Jan to May (green season) and end of August to December (dry season). Visibility is not good between June and August months. Temperatures range from 13’C on the highlands to about 35’C on the floor of the Great Rift Valley.
The climb of Mt. Ol ‘Doinyo L’Engai is the climax of this trek. The climb takes from 3 to 5 hours up and 2 to 3 hours descent.
We provide all Camping gears including specious all weather tents. One cook will be on the trek with you. He takes care of all camp chores. You’re free to give a helping hand. He will provide 3 delicious meals per day. – Vegetarian or not. Most lunches are picnic as you’ll be on the trail.

Pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Arusha town..
Your driver guide will be at the Airport waiting for you. Please advise arrival time. He will be carrying a sign board written your name on it. After meet and greet he will drive you to the lodge situated in Arusha town for overnight. depending your arrival time, you can go out for shopping buying sorvenier and visiting the museum.

ARUSHA-LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
You will depart by road with your driver-guide to Lake Manyara National park, located 135kms out of Arusha town, On arrival at the Park gate complete Park registration official procedures and then enjoy a thrilling game drives in this Park till lunchtime.
The park is home to climbing lion, pythons, zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and others.
After lunch, you will drive out of the park where you will go out for cultural interaction in the village, experience local tribe lives, meet and talk to them, while spending some time with them and engaging yourself in a typical African life. The walking is for about two hours strolling through local villages of Mto wa Mbu. A very unique village in Tanzania as it is home to over 120 different tribes across Africa. You will see local Farms, local homes, and schools. You are welcome to taste local food prepared by the locals.

A public campsite located on the rim of Ngorongoro crater offer basic accommodation for adventure lovers. Most frequently used and the largest camp inside Ngorongoro. The best area to start roaming the crater earlier.
NGORONGORO CRATER TOUR
Early morning after breakfast served at the campsite, descent in the Crater the home of 270,000 Wild Animals. Game drive in Crater until afternoon where you will drive to the selected picnic site near the hippo pool for Lunch. thereafter you will have a short game drive then ascend to the rim and drive to Arusha arriving in the evening.
Besides the stunning scenery of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the main attractions of this area is the variety of flora and fauna found a remarkably compact area all around the year. Ngorongoro crater is the best place to see black rhinoceros, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles. The crater also has the densest known population of lions and it’s the place you can find the black-maned lion. Spectacular scenery in this largest caldera in Africa wherein the work animal lives in the Crater.

Hike to the rim of Empakaai Crater and down to the Crater floor. The Empakaai Crater is one of the most beautiful places on the Crater Highlands. Much of the crater floor is covered by a jewel-like lake. Walk along the lakeshore teeming with thousands of pink flamingos. Picnic lunch in the Crater. The eerie lake, the occasional hyenas chasing flamingoes, the wild sounds…will make your spirit join with the body. Evening climb back to the rim.

Hike down off the Great Rift Valley wall to the base of Mt. Ol’ Doinyo L’Engai. (Your pick up Safari jeep will meet you here after dropping you at Ngorongoro Nainokanoka village on Day 1. From the base of Mt. L’Engai you’ll be transferred to Kamakia Camp. (Picnic lunch en route).

Shortly after mid night, jeep transfer to the base of Mt Ol’ Doinyo L’Engai for the climb to peak of this live volcano. The climb takes about 3 hours on a normal pace. The climb is strenuous and requires a physically fit person. Arrive at the Peak just before sunrise.
L’Engai volcanic crater looks like a field infested with red firelight insects just before sunrise. An amazing site to visit! Tour of the active Crater after sunrise.
Later in the morning descend to the base. If you did climb Mount Oldonyo Lengai, driver guide will come at the base to collect you and drive to the camp for breakfast, later you will visit lake Natron on the way to Arusha.
