Trekking to Kilimanjaro Routes requires proper physical preparation and good level of fitness, take two to three month in advance for preparation.
Empakaai Trekking and Safari: On this safari, there are great opportunities for breaking up a vehicle based safari and stretching the legs. This is a private safari, starting and ending in Arusha-Tanzania. The tour offers you an opportunity to visit Tarangire National Park, Northern and central Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Moreover a visit to Lake Natron on the Great Rift Valley where you will do walking on foot. Lake Natron is one of the major flamingo breeding areas in Tanzania. Furthermore, Northeast of the Ngorongoro Crater-close to Nainokanoka Maasai village (2630M), lies sunken caldera. You will do a walking safari visiting Olmoth Crater. In this Empakaai trekking and Safari tour, It takes about 35 minutes walking to the rim of this shallow crater. Lots of differences of antelope can be found here. Walking to Munge river waterfalls is interesting too.

DAY 1
Our recommendations are:ARRIVAL AT KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTArrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), After Airport formalities, you will be warmly welcome by our experienced stuff outside the customs area, greet and ready to escort you in a private transfer to your chosen hotel in Arusha town. While introducing you to this wonderful country and city.
After a long flight you will be thrilled to see Arusha the acknowledged Safari Capital of East Africa, is perched at 1400 meters above sea level- keeping the temperatures and humidity quite low. All about this significant city are some of Tanzania’s most pleasure. Mount Meru overlooks Arusha and the distant Kilimanjaro can be seen on a clear day.
Arusha is the ideal starting point for safari lovers, within reach of Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti. The city even has its own natural attraction, Arusha National Park named after Wa-Arusha inhabitants of the town. Full of agricultural activities, administrative and tourist centre. It is the perfect place to relax before and after a long voyage of a lifetime.

ARUSHA-TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARKAt 09:00AM, your guide will come to pick you and drive to Tarangire national park, 1h30minutes will take you to Tarangire gate where you will complete Park registration official procedures and start game drive with your knowledgeable and experienced guide who will share with you information concerning wildlife you spot in the park. You will do game drives in the park till lunch time (picnic lunch boxes to be served within the park at a suitable picnic site). Proceed with game drive till evening where you’ll drive to the camp for overnight.
Tarangire is haven for bird lovers as 500 hundred bird species recorded in the park. The park is also famous for the big herds of elephant, and huge baobab tree, a good variety of wildlife, rich of bird life, flora and fauna. Up to 6,000 elephants inhabit Tarangire in the dry season. The area also supports a great diversity of wildlife, including thousands of wildebeest, giraffe, Cape buffalo, lesser kudu, eland, Oryx and zebra, dik-dik, Grants gazelle, banded mongoose, velvet monkey, and olive monkey. Predator in this park are Lion, leopard and cheetah, honey badgers, Caracas and african wild dog.
The park is highlighted to visit during the dry season from June to December as thousand of wild animals migrate to the park due to availability of water that floors from Tarangire River. -
DAY 3Lake Natron Tented Camp
Our recommendations are:LAKE NATRON AREAMorning departs for Lake Natron on the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in the afternoon. Tour of Lake Natron on foot, (Lake Natron is one of the major flamingo breeding areas).
Evening free at the camp or visit to the nearby waterfalls for a swim in the river. -

SERENGETI-NGORONGORO CRATER TOURToday you will work a bit earlier and depart to Ngorongoro for Crater tour.
Descend in the crater home of 270,000 Wild Animals. Game drive in Crater until afternoon where you will drive to the selected picnic site near the hippo pool for Lunch. thereafter you will have a short game drive before driving to Mto the campsite.
Besides the stunning scenery of the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the main attractions of this area is the variety of flora and fauna found a remarkably compact area all around the year. Ngorongoro crater is the best place to see black rhinoceros, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles. Other game that you can see includes leopard, hyena, cheetah, Elephants, Jackal, hippos, waterbuck, baboons, antelope family, and small mammals. The crater also has the densest known population of lions and it’s the place you can find the black-maned lion. Spectacular scenery in this largest caldera in Africa wherein the work animal lives in the Crater. -
DAY 8Nainokanoka Campsite
Our recommendations are:WALKING AT OLMOTH CRATERThere are some great opportunities for breaking up a vehicle based safari and stretching the legs. Located Northeast of the Ngorongoro Crater, close to Nainokanoka village lies this sunken caldera. Visiting Olmoth is only likely by foot with the escort of an armed park ranger. It takes about 35 minutes walking to the rim of this shallow crater. Lots of different species of antelope can be found here. Walking to Munge river waterfalls is interesting.
In the morning you will be driving to Ngorongoro. Start your trek from Lemala gate to Nainokanoka Maasai village. Walk to Olmoth Crater then return to the camp located at Nainokanoka-(2630M). -
DAY 9
Our recommendations are:EMPAKAAI CRATER-WALKING-ARUSHAThe stunning but relatively unknown Empakaai Crater lies some 40km north-east of its famous neighbor the Ngorongoro Crater. North-East of the Ngorongoro Crater lies the Empakaai Crater, Empakaai is about 6000M wide and 300M high. A deep soda lake covers a large part of the crater floor. There is a track to the crater floor and one around the rim of the crater. Among other animals you will see a variety of antelope, blue monkeys, bushbuck, Buffaloes and birds in abundance. On a nice, clear day, you can see Mt. Kilimanjaro, Oldoinyo Lengai and Lake Natron. The scenery is left to your imagination!
After breakfast, you will drive past Bulati village to Empakaai crater rim-(2510M).
Trek down to Empakaai Crater, lunch will be served inside the crater, then ascend to the rim and get into the safari jeep where you will be transferred to Arusha, arriving in the evening. -
