A day tour to mount Kilimanjaro: You may not climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in a day, but you can take a day tour to this iconic snow capped mountain which will give you an excellent preview of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. Follow the famous Marangu route, walk as far as the first hut (Mandara hut) where picnic lunch will be served. You may also have acclimatization opportunity visiting Maundi crater. A well view point positioned at the rim of the forest belt. Over you will enter the moorlands through their very well huge heathers stands, lobelia, groundsels and other exotic tropical high altitude flora. Then make a descent again and return back to Arusha. From Mandara hut, other trekkers will continue upwards bounce for the summit.

You may also take a day tour via Machame route. The Machame Route is a popular one as it combines the beautiful and varied scenery with plenty of opportunities to acclimatize. Furthermore to Rongai route, Lemosho route, Shira route, Northern circuit and Umbwe route. Marangu, Machame and Umbwe, all this route approach from the south of the mountain. DAY 1

Our recommendations are:

A DAY TOUR TO MT. KILIMANJARO-Short hike

This tour begins with your hotel pickup at 07:00hrs where you will drive to Marangu gate on the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A starting stage for the climb to the Peak. The drive is on good road with glorious views of Mt. Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro on clear mornings-3hours drive.
Register at the gate with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities, then begin hiking at around 11.00hrs. Trek through the rain forest to enjoy the beautiful views of the mountain.
The Marangu Route, which we follow today, approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast, attempt to reach the Mandara Hut and will only trek through the lower altitudes taking our picnic lunch on the way to the Mandara Hut. Once we reach the Hut at 14:30hrs, we then stop for a short rest for about 30Minutes enjoying our packed lunch. we will then hike back to the gate-2h30mns. Our vehicle will be waiting to pick you and drive back to Arusha.
