For those who enjoy remoteness beautiful landscapes and wildlife Mahale is a place to visit in all of Africa. One of the most impressive travel destinations in the world. DAR TO MPANDA -KATAVI NATIONAL PARK
Morning take a flight from Dar to western Tanzania – Katavi National Park – 4471 sq km, the third biggest national park in the country.
Transferred from Katavi Airstrip to your overnight accommodation.

KATAVI NATIONAL PARK - Game drives
Game drive in the Park which covers big grassland savanna plains, woodland, marshlands, rough hills, lakes, and rivers when combined with neighboring game reserves of Rukwa, Luafi, and Lukwati form a great eco-system. There is a strong population of elephants, giraffes, Buffaloes, waterbucks, and hartebeests as well as predators such as Hyena and Pride of Lions which are simply seen while Leopard, cheetah, and wild dog can also be seen. In dry months from July to October hundreds of hippo crowd into the remaining waterholes and rivers while crocodiles sun themselves on the banks.
The area has few permanent camps with a few visitors a year.
Overnight stay at Mbalimbali tented camp where you will spend 3nights in a tented suite with a private veranda for a good view. The camp is well located for a game-rich area in the park.

KATAVI NATIONAL PARK - Walking
Explore African bush on foot is the ultimate adventure giving you the chance to see wildlife closer. The walking safari is escorted by an armed park ranger. The longer trail is over 5 hours to complete while the Sitalike Trail is shorter distances so you can choose something manageable. There is more than 9 miles trails through the park’s forest lead to scenic viewpoint overlooking Rukwa valley. This trail pass three waterfalls.
Note: the best time to do hiking is at the beginning of dry season-from May. When the waterfalls still roaring but you don’t have to deal with storms upsetting your trek.
