Mid December – April
Traveling down from Kenya every year, Ngorongoro Conservation Area plays host to one of the world’s greats natural spectacles – The Great Migration. Each year, between January and March the migrating herds of over 1.4 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra return to the nutrient rich Ndutu short grass plains for their calving season. Calving generally peaks around February making for a beautiful natural spectacle of new birth and sightings of some very exciting predator hunting behaviors, most notably that of cheetah hunting. Ndutu Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the action and makes for the perfect place in which to witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles.
