Day trip to Ngorongoro Crater. A day trip from Arusha to Ngorongoro crater. Will be starting from Arusha and ending in Arusha. With a diameter of 20km, is the world’s largest un-flooded volcanic caldera and home to Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site. An amazing site created 2 million years ago brought by the collapse of an enormous volcano, reckoned to be larger than Kilimanjaro. One of the main attractions of the Ngorongoro crater is the variety of flora and fauna found in a remarkably compact area all around the year. Ngorongoro crater support grasslands, forests and swamps. Background of jaw-sinking beauty because of the permanent water supply within the ground of the crater and support resident animals.

Ngorongoro crater is also the best place to see black rhinoceros, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles. Nevertheless can see leopard, hyena, Jackal, cheetah, Elephants, hippos, waterbuck, baboons, antelope family, and small mammals. There are lots of colorful flamingos and a variety of waterbirds in this area too for bird lovers. The crater also has the densest known population of lions and can find the black-maned lion. Short safari briefing provided all the necessary safari information before travel to the Great Rift Valley to Ngorongoro Crater. Travel though agricultural farm and fresh produce market of Mto Wa Mbu village, situated next to Lake Manyara national park entrance. The village is a souvenir hunters paradise, harbouring thousands souvenir salesmen. Then continue to Ngorongoro, short stop on the rim of the crater for crater view.

Descend to the Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhinoceros, wildebeest, zebras and gazelles. The crater also has the densest known population of lions and it’s the place you can find the black-maned lion.

In reality the crater has the greatest concentration of wild life in the planet. It has several swamps, a river and soda lake which from the top looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large elephants that reside here have tremendously large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. You will have game drive in the crater followed by packed lunch which will be served near the hippo pool, enjoying them closely. Thereafter you will ascend to the rim and drive to Arusha arriving in the evening. drop off at the Airport.
